Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Overview
This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines terms under which refunds may be issued for services purchased through the WiseNotary platform. This policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.
2. Subscription Cancellation
2.1 Monthly Subscriptions
May be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds for partial months.
2.2 Annual Subscriptions
May be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, cancellation takes effect at the end of the annual term with no refund for the remaining period.
3. Service-Specific Refunds
3.1 Notarization Services
Refund eligible:
- Service not completed due to a platform error
- Notarization performed incorrectly by the Service Provider
- Session cancelled before notarization was completed
NOT refund eligible:
- Document rejected by third party for reasons unrelated to the notarization
- User provided incorrect or incomplete information
- User changed their mind after service completion
3.2 Translation Services
Refund eligible:
- Translation contains material errors substantially affecting meaning
- Translation not delivered within the agreed timeframe (plus reasonable extension)
- Translation was not completed
Translation revisions will be offered before a refund is considered. Refunds are NOT issued for subjective disagreements about style or word choice when the translation is substantively accurate.
3.3 Apostille and Legalization
Processing fees paid to government agencies are generally non-refundable. WiseNotary service fees may be refunded if the service was not completed due to a platform or provider error.
3.4 Courier and Delivery Services
Refunds may be issued if: (a) delivery was not attempted; (b) documents were lost or damaged during transit (subject to carrier liability limits). Refunds are NOT issued for delays caused by customs, postal services, or other factors beyond WiseNotary's control.
4. Refund Process
To request a refund:
- Contact support at support@wisenotary.com within 30 days of service
- Provide your order number and detailed description of the issue
- Allow up to 10 business days for review
- Approved refunds processed to original payment method within 5–10 business days
5. Chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank, please contact us directly. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in account suspension and collection actions for amounts owed.
6. Force Majeure
WiseNotary is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to resume services as soon as practicable.
